Current fares for both Washington State Ferries (WSF) and Kitsap Transit Fast Ferry on the Seattle-Bremerton route. Fares are subject to change — always confirm on the official sites linked below.

WSF Car Ferry Fares (Seattle-Bremerton)

Walk-on passenger fares are collected westbound only (Seattle to Bremerton). The eastbound trip from Bremerton to Seattle is free for walk-on passengers. Vehicle fares are collected in both directions — vehicle and driver fares are collected at Seattle (westbound) and at Bremerton (eastbound). Passengers riding in a vehicle pay the walk-on fare only on the westbound crossing.

Walk-On Passengers

Adult (age 19-64): $9.45 one-way (westbound). Senior (age 65+) / Disabled: $4.70. Youth (age 6-18): $4.70. Children under 6: Free. ORCA cards accepted.

Vehicles

Vehicle under 14 feet (includes driver): approximately $16.60 per crossing. Vehicle 14-22 feet: approximately $22.75. Motorcycle: approximately $9.05. Note: fares may vary slightly by direction and season — see WSDOT links below for exact current amounts. Oversized vehicles: additional fees apply. Vehicle fares include the driver — passengers pay the walk-on fare separately.

Multi-Ride Options

Frequent riders can load WSF passes onto an ORCA card for discounted fares. Monthly passes are available for regular commuters. Visit the official WSDOT fares page for current multi-ride pricing.

Kitsap Transit Fast Ferry Fares

The Fast Ferry is passenger-only (no vehicles). Fares differ by direction.

Regular Fares

Adult Eastbound (Bremerton to Seattle): $2.00. Adult Westbound (Seattle to Bremerton): $13.00. Youth (6-18): $1.00 eastbound / $6.50 westbound. Senior/Disabled: $1.00 eastbound / $6.50 westbound. Children under 6: Free. ORCA cards accepted.

Why the Price Difference by Direction?

The lower eastbound fare is designed to encourage commuters heading to Seattle. The higher westbound fare reflects the premium speed of the 30-minute crossing compared to WSF’s 60-minute trip.

Payment Methods

ORCA Card: Accepted on both WSF and Fast Ferry. Tap at terminal readers before boarding. This is the fastest and most convenient payment method.

Cash: Accepted at WSF terminal ticket booths. The Fast Ferry also accepts cash, but exact fare only — no change is given. If you pay more than the fare amount, you will not receive change back.

Ticket Kiosks: ORCA ticket vending machines are located at both the Seattle and Bremerton Fast Ferry terminals. You can purchase an ORCA card or load funds using a credit or debit card.

Credit/Debit Cards: Accepted at WSF ticket booths and vending machines.

Wave2Go App: WSF offers a mobile ticketing app for walk-on passengers.

Fare Comparison: WSF vs Fast Ferry

For a walk-on adult traveling from Seattle to Bremerton, the WSF fare is $9.45 for a 60-minute ride. The Fast Ferry costs $13.00 for a 30-minute ride.
