Everything you need to know about the ferry terminals serving the Seattle-Bremerton route, including parking, directions, and tips for a smooth boarding experience.

Live Vessel Tracking

Want to see exactly where your ferry is right now? WSDOT Vessel Watch shows real-time GPS positions of all Washington State Ferries on an interactive map. It is the best way to check if your boat is on schedule before heading to the terminal.

Colman Dock — Seattle Terminal

Address: 801 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98104 (Pier 52)

Colman Dock is the main WSF terminal in downtown Seattle, located on the waterfront south of Pike Place Market. Both the WSF car ferry and the Kitsap Transit Fast Ferry depart from this area, though from separate docks.

WSF Terminal (Pier 52)

The WSF vehicle ferry loads from the main Colman Dock facility. Vehicle traffic enters from Alaskan Way. Walk-on passengers enter through the terminal building on the pedestrian overpass level. The terminal has indoor waiting areas, restrooms, and a small convenience shop.

Fast Ferry Terminal

The Kitsap Transit Fast Ferry departs from a separate dock located just south of the main WSF terminal. Look for Kitsap Transit signage. The walk between WSF and Fast Ferry terminals is about 2 to 3 minutes.

Parking Near Colman Dock

Colman Dock does not have its own parking garage. If you must drive to the Seattle terminal, the nearest options include the Pike Place Market garage (about a 5-minute walk), various commercial parking lots along First Avenue and Alaskan Way, and street parking (metered, limited availability). Walking on from Seattle is strongly recommended. The terminal is well-served by Link Light Rail (University Street Station is a 10-minute walk), King County Metro buses, and the Seattle Streetcar.

Getting to Colman Dock by Transit

From Sea-Tac Airport, take Link Light Rail to University Street Station, then walk west to the waterfront (about 10 minutes downhill). Multiple King County Metro bus routes stop within a block of the terminal. The Seattle Streetcar First Hill line connects to Pioneer Square, a short walk from the terminal.

Bremerton Ferry Terminal

Address: 10 Washington Avenue, Bremerton, WA 98337

The Bremerton terminal serves both WSF car ferries and Kitsap Transit Fast Ferries. It is located in downtown Bremerton on the waterfront, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the Bremerton Boardwalk.

Parking at Bremerton Terminal

Free parking is available in the WSF lot adjacent to the terminal — this is a significant advantage over the Seattle side. Additional parking is available in the downtown Bremerton garage (a short walk from the terminal). During peak commute times and summer weekends, the WSF lot can fill up. Arriving 20 to 30 minutes early is recommended if you need parking.

Getting to Bremerton Terminal by Transit

Kitsap Transit local buses serve the Bremerton Transportation Center, which is adjacent to the ferry terminal. Routes connect to Silverdale, Poulsbo, Port Orchard, and other Kitsap County destinations.

Tips for a Smooth Trip

Walk-on passengers: Arrive 5 to 10 minutes before departure. Boarding closes a few minutes before sailing time.

Vehicles: Arrive at least 20 to 30 minutes early. On weekends and summer, 30 to 45 minutes is safer. Vehicles board in order of arrival — there are no reservations on the Bremerton route.

Bad weather: Ferries generally run in rain and moderate wind. Severe weather or mechanical issues can cause delays or cancellations. Check WSDOT Vessel Watch or our live schedule for current status.

Peak times to avoid: Weekday morning sailings from Bremerton (6:00 to 8:00 AM) and afternoon/evening sailings from Seattle (4:00 to 6:00 PM) are the busiest for vehicles. Walk-on passengers are rarely turned away.
